What are 2D & 3D Laser Crystals ?
2D & 3D laser crystals are high-quality glass crystal blocks and shapes containing photo images which have been laser-engraved inside, known as subsurface engraving. These keepsakes are creaated from regular 2D images, which are usually enhanced, edited and modified to enable focused laser pulses to create millions of tiny micro-fractures inside the glass crystal, without damaging the surface.
Images appear to float inside the glass, often enhanced by a battery powered or USB Light Base (not essential) and will never fade or degrade over time. Shapes such as hearts, cubes and rectangles are available in different sizes, making them suitable for simple head and shoulders images, as well as full body. Additional text and graphics may be added to the crystal, making a personalised gift or keepsake that will last.

Regular photos and digital images, enhanced and modified for subsurface engraving using UV laser technology.
Images appear beautifully ghosted into the glass crystal, where additional text and graphics may be added to further personalise the piece.

Images go through a technical process to create 'point clouds' suitable for 3D effect laser engraving.
Usually with the background removed, the result is an image that appears to float inside the Crystal block or shape, with a 3D appearance when viewed from different angles.
